We've finally been to see a cali in the flesh and really liked it- i was wondering whether to wait for the T6 or Merc Vito but getting a camper would impact on a few other things, so we don't want to wait! My wife was quite dubious about the whole camper thing but, after seeing it, she seems genuinely excited about getting one- which is great!. Just to make sure, we're going to hire one for the weekend at october half term (friday from school pick up until monday tea time). We're going to get it from manchester airport (just down the road from us), but not sure where to go- we'll need campsites with loos as won't have all the bits and bobs for wild camping- but some recommendations for good campsites within an hour or two of manc airport would be most appreciated (that includes N wales, Lancs, yorks dales, s lakes and peaks). May even do a tour of 2 or 3 campsites. Have 2 kids (7 and 4) so need to find some good stuff for them to do too. Thanks

Ravenglass camping & caravanning club site may be worth a look. NIce and quiet but tiny walk to amazing estuary, and pubs / restaurants. Half an hour is another club site at Eskdale with a different feel. Both are cheaper if you are members, but great showers etc to get you started.

There is a tiny train between these two sites as well. Lovely, both.
