Myferrylink

If it was me I'd put it down as a van.

However I would book direct with someone like LD lines as they are much cheaper than an agent like myferrylink.

Thanks just checked and they are a lot cheaper, choices are now car or motor home,
I wouldn't call a Cali beach a motor home?

Says car on the V5...

That's odd, got the same model as you guy but ours says Motor Caravan.
I think the main criteria is the height rather than the footprint of the vehicle as the Cali is no bigger than some cars we've had.

Well booked it through DFDS seaways £65 return which is very good compared to others.
Found a 20% promo :-http://www.vouchercodes.co.uk/dfdsseaways.co.uk?rc=1873914

Only problem all the times where booked on the day apart from 5:15am departure  got to be there 45mins prior and dover is an hour and a half away.. not sure its worth going to bed night before

For body type yes, but taxation class "Diesel Car" - makes it a car in my eyes! As you say, as long as footprint falls within their category don't see they can argue (just take V5 with you!).
