Hi all. My front wipers have stopped working whilst we are away. I took the van to a VW Commercial specialist who told me that the fuse had not blown but they didn't have the time for further investigations! Any ideas from anybody? Thanks.

Someone will know. Afraid I don’t sorry.

I had this happen today . Apparently there is a Microswitch in the bonnet area. Not the best on the motorway with no hard shoulder when hammering down. Can't remember concentrating as much ..ever

The bonnet switch will stop them working and you should see this on the vehicle status.

Normally it looks like this;

Also check all switch positions and pull?
Do the washers work?
There are 2 fuses, one for the stalk that supplies the switches and washers and another for the wiper motors.

Fuse SC13 (30A) supplies the Wiper Motor
Fuse SC36 (15A) supplies the wiper Stalk with power and also the washers

Thanks Loz...I was on my way to VW for some warranty work. They have ordered some parts and will hopefully get it sorted today.
The wipers stopped in the service position btw. I was about to come off the M4 and they just started again.
Appreciate your help.

I used a similar product to this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002G27G98/?tag=eliteelect-21 some years ago which makes rain bead up and roll away. It worked very well and you could drive along in medium to heavy rain with the wipers off, if you chose to.
I'm not suggesting it as a permanent solution in place of wipers, but might be useful if they can't repair it reliably or at a sensible price.

Please lets us know what they replace as it will be good to round off this thread for future readers.

I’ll take a look later and give you an idea which 2 to check.
This forum would be a very average affair where it not for folk like you, Loz. Thanks for the time and energy and expertise you put into helping us all.
