CAR ALARM

Can anyone advice me about the California alarm ? Is it a good alarm? Can the van be stolen without the key?
If there is a additional alarm that can be fitted ?
My van is down my drive near my house so not easy to lift away

Its a cat 1 which I presume is decent the key is coded to the vans ECU so without the right key it won't start
