Pulsing Backlight = earth shunt problem?

The on board computer display backlight on the driving console is pulsing. Having had a brief scan of other threads is it the earth shunt that is the problem? Thanks.

If it does it all the time... then probably not.

If it does it when the heater comes on then very possibly, particularly as you have a pre-facelift.

Most post face lift models shouldn't suffer from the earth shunt problem as it was theoretically addressed on the production line.

Just noticed that your post is about the driving console and not the camper control unit... as such won't be the earth shunt as the driving console is fed from the main battery and not the leisures.

Could be an earth or voltage regulator issue. Does it do it when the engine isn't running?

My wife has gone the van so can't check at the moment but I will. Start battery drains after 2 weeks on the drive so suspect it needs replacing otherwise think I may have an earth as you suggest.
