Paint on stand alone table peeling off

Hi, has anyone else had a problem with the paint on the table peeling off around the rim, just the narrow strip?

Yes we have this on ours, but I am thankful it has not deteriorated to the same extent as our earlier California interior where the chrome trim was popping off all over the place including around the entire edge of the table in question. The annoying thing is, you cannot buy this trim as a spare part.
