Lane assist?

I'm guessing this alerts you if you pull out and there is another car already in the next lane. Is this right?

Yes that's correct. We found it handy when driving on the left hand side in Europe especially joining motorway carriageways, there's a bit of a blind spot where the wardrobe is. It's also quite nice in bad visibility conditions like heavy rain/ slight fog etc
