Hi all. I'm doing lots of researching in preparation for getting a full Cali and this forum is fab! We have two children, 2 and 5. The older one can stay up a bit later without much problem but the younger one still needs her sleep. How easy is it to have earlier bedtimes for the little ones? Does it limit how much you can do inside the van?

I am sure you can zip them up somewhere. :D Although we do not have kids now when they were younger we camped and found the fresh airof the big out doors just wore tbem out and where always ready for bed and crashed out early

Thanks. Just want to be sure that we can still enjoy a glass of wine once they're tucked up in the roof bed!

even better that you are planing to use the upper bed for them

Our 2 year old sleeps in her travel cot from 7:30 on an evening in the awning, then when we are ready for bed we simply lift the travel cot into the square metre of downstairs space and hop upstairs to sleep.

Just back from a 15 night tour of Switzerland and Northern Italy and we did this every night without waking her.

We have a 17 month old daughter and she sleeps on the bed downstairs by the boot lid between inflatable cot bed bump stop things (two inflatable tubes connected by a sheet which just happens to be exactly the same length as the bed is wide!). You can get them on Amazon fairly cheaply. We can get down from the top bunk and go outside (including opening the door) without waking her most of the time. We have a safety net and the plan is to put her up the top with the cot bed stops asap.

Our kids are now 3 and 5 - we started Cali campering when they were 1 and 3.

We've always put them upstairs and they're now so familiar with it, they sleep better up there than anywhere else!

We just sit outside (unless it's raining) and keep reasonably quietish until they're off.

Thanks all. We currently have a tourer that's stored on a site so they're used to bunking in together. Think the flexibility of the Cali will suit us better though.
