awning rail end cap - lost, stolen attempt or broken?

I found the rear right awning rail end cap missing...
not a clue what happened, no hit or similar to be aware of.
some pictures attached, might someone enlighten me?!

Found one of the rail end capschad worked its way out, just needs tapping back in. Since then looked at several in car parks with various degrees of movement. From pic looks like yours snapped off

Probably somewhere out on the road next to mine. Went missing ages ago

Funnily enough, both of mine were on their way out - I tried tapping them back in, but snapped due to the brittleness (I assume age and weather exposure).

Over the winter mine had worked its way out, fortunately I spotted it before it fell off. It had been pushed out by ice forming in the rail channel and as the van was on a slight slope it pushed onto the end cap working it out.
