Two nights in the van at the Cairngorms at the beginning of the week for ski touring, seriously cold at minus 11 Deg C but but stunning snow conditions.

Water tank froze, first time in 8 years of using the van in winter, see other thread for that lol.

Looks like you are over aviemore way, did you venture over to lecht? That’s pretty close to me if you did.

No we didn't, only had a small good mountain weather window, came home on Tuesday.

Is the Lecht ski centre open yet, should be some good snow?

Erwlon Campsite Nr Llandovery.

Excellent all-year site and a 10 minute walk into the town. Great facilities and free WiFi.

No we didn't, only had a small good mountain weather window, came home on Tuesday.

Is the Lecht ski centre open yet, should be some good snow?

I haven’t been up in the last couple of weeks, but the amount of snow we have had I would have thought it’s open.
I know the road up gets closed loads, will be popping passed in the week so will update

Aye never had much in the west compared to the East but theres a good base on the hills so looking like a canny winter so far.
Where it was on the steeper sections with consequences it was hard, sketched around in the ascent but descent was much easier in crampons.
Hopefully some climbing after Christmas.
I Hope your drive has thawed !

Turned out to be the correct decision!

With the rain stopped and the wind slightly less gusty finally able to get the flags back put. Maiden trip with the Rainbow Screen pop top cover and Duvalay mattress.

What mattress did you go for? planning on ordering one tomorrow but haven't decided which one. Also planning on ordering the RS pop top cover which looks a great fit! did you have to give them dimensions and did it take 10 weeks to arrive?
