Hi all,
Looking for some inspiration and thoughts on travelling around France in an Eriba. We have just been notified that our new California will not been here until after the summer holidays. We have been around France on numerous occasions from the North to the South and into Spain with our older, now sold California. We are slightly concerned that we won't be able to cover the same distances but appreciate will have greater flexibility when we arrive at a site. Has anybody done some trips around France either with a California / Eriba combo or just with an Eriba. We are looking to be away for about month in August. We will start our journey from Calais. If anyone has any thoughts it will be greatly appreciated.

So basically a caravan touring holiday? 1000’s do it every year - we did ourselves for 10+ years. You tend to have to plan and book ahead with a caravan (especially the busy areas), but easily doable and equally as enjoyable.

If you haven't got one already, buy an Avtex Sat Nav. It uses the Garmin software and maps and you can set it up for your rig. You shouldn't get caught out going down too-narrow roads.

You may also like a Toll Pass for the Autoroutes, to save queuing to pay at the booth.

While staying in an IBIS hotel in Girona, Spain in 2015 I spotted this Eriba in the hotel underground carpark. It was a day of very heavy rain so maybe an option if no campsite available.

We’ve not taken our Cali Coast and Eriba to Europe yet, but are going to the Normandy beaches in about 2 weeks, so interested in the experience and advice of others. My dad (95 and doing well) landed on the beaches with the South Wales Boarders; the landing craft door opened early, he jumped off and went under the water, he was most bothered about the 200 cigarettes he was carrying. We’re staying overnight near the tunnel (Bearsted) both there and back. Booking the tunnel was easy, and it’s just over 3 hours by car to Caen, obviously longer pulling an Eriba; not bothering with the toll tag, only planning to be on their autoroutes once this year. The Eriba is so easy to tow, not at all concerned about the trip. Got the Avtex sat nav - good piece of kit.

If you decide you need an awning for your Eriba trip the Vango Agora Air VW Drive Away Awning fits both the Eriba and the California. (Picture of it connected to the Eriba not good, I think I may have had moisture on the lens). The van and Eriba combination tows really well.

Thank you, never considered anything like this. Likely to use Flower Camping sites. Do you know if the sat nav will sink with any of these and other such as Castells?
