I recently went to the Isle of Wight having been assured that it ‘has its own microclimate’. It really does - Everywhere else was warm and sunny. Good luck.

Sandown Bay normally ranks at or near the top of UK sunshine figures.

Even when the weather forecast is dire, it's often not that bad, unless your going to the Lake District. They need alot of rain to keep those lakes full.

Usually in SW France for 3 weeks in August...Wales for us this August.

Worth remembering to drink responsibly - if you’re far from the toilets (or the Thetford is close to the red), switch to wine. Less volume, less trips.

That’s about where I was. To be fair, it was mostly not raining, but when it did .

My pain continues. Woke this morning fully convinced I was in the middle of France. A quick baguette/jam/coffee frenzy then point it towards the hot sunny bit. Beers on the beach by 5.

Rolled back the door. Grey/drizzle. Bollox.

@sidepod the continental breakfast was a mistake.
You should have had a sausage sandwich with brown sauce, and a hot mug of tea. Then ‘point it’ to a location where you can put on your walking boots and get out into the great British countryside, incorporating a stop at a pub for a pint and a ploughman’s

I’ve just opened the curtains this morning. Wow, it’s raining a bit…

Things have improved slightly. Found a decent pub attached to a brewery. So far pubs have been appalling at best.

Got a half decent Porter on the go.

Not too many fat tracksuits here, which is nice.

I genuinely pity anyone who has to holiday in this country, with kids. By day three you must be ready to sell a vital organ just to get away from the pain.
