Bike rack removal for Eurotunnel

We have booked to travel on Eurotunnel without bikes, do I need to remove my VW bike rack in order to fit within the category or is it fine in the closed position against the rear window?

If booked as a motor home / Campervan the price is not dependant on length, so the bike rack is free of charge whether open or shut.

No.
If you have a Kylie (trad T5 style on a T6) it barely extends beyond the bumper and is no higher. Quasimodo (newer T6 style) extends further but still not an issue if folded up.

We did not have to pay extra last month for cycle rack (no bikes), likewise I note the slight increase in overall length does not increase cost of ferry to Scotish islands.
