Multiple Error Warnings

Has anyone else had this combination of error warnings…
- Error - Start Stop
- Tyre Pressure Loss Indicator Currently Not Available
- Error: ABS / stabilisation control (ESC)

99% certain faulty ABS sensor. Commonly a rear one but need a code reader to identify.
it could be some debris upsetting sensor.

How strange, i have exactly the same fault appeared this morning. Im gonna check it out monday morning

Thanks. I thought probably a sensor as the van drives fine and there hadn’t been any obvious incidents on the road to cause damage. I had covered a lot of miles so the debris suggestion could be relevant.

You might well get some symptoms if it is intermittent, from the 4Motion. I did.

Mine was intermittent then became permenant. During the intermittent phase there were occasions where pulling away seemed as if the brakes were on. I believe this was due either to the ABS or Haldex responding to an abnormal sensor output. Once the lights were on permanently the drive was fine.
Carista showed N/S rear sensor. I checked for any debris, the wiring harness - all fine.
When in for its service VW were unable to confirm the diagnosis as their computer system requires a connection to a VW mainframe. Anyway I told them to replace both rear ABS sensors, although Carista said only one was faulty. Contrary to others who have said it’s a simple 5 minute job, both sensors were well and truely immovable and basically had to be removed piecemeal. Took a few hours by my garage. I changed both as it seem when 1 rear fails the other soon will and I’m off to Norway in 5 weeks.

Mines not a true comparison, it took 3 hrs to get both out whereas it should be literally a 30 minute job as the sensor is unplugged, locking bolt removed, sensor out , new one in, locking bolt and plug in. Obviously the vehicle is jacked up and wheel removed and replaced.
So mine was 4 hrs Labour in total + 2 sensors. I was charged £450 or so.

£95 incl diagnostic, fit new sensor, test drive at our local garage.

They also tried cleaning the old one first, reset error & then test drove…but new one was needed.

still trying to sort mine, seems to be a shortage of bits about in my area, ended up geting them from germany and they aint arrived yet, supposed to be here tommorow. fingers crossed

I had same scenario as WelshGass. Replaced one myself, never again. Also, once one goes other 3 seem to go within the year. I was charged £80 to replace two, but that was in Anglesey

i just done mine, both rears and cost 32.00, took about an hour, hardest part was getting the wheels off.

Hi, although I have a 2014 Ocean (T5.1) and not a T6, I have had same combination of warning lights several times recently (intermittently). They seem to be a relatively common combination (all 3 lights together). Always the wheel sensor each time. Unfortunately, I am past the stage of tackling this kind of thing myself these days, so down to my local (non-VW) garage each time I'm afraid. £250 per visit to replace sensor etc. Front OS and then left rear ABS wheel sensors went within 2 months of each other. Now it's the turn of the rear right sensor, according to my Carista diagnostic plug in (v useful for this sort of thing). No discernible effects on driving, but I'll get it sorted in next few weeks I expect. Only one more to go after that! Advice to do all 4 at same time may be sound in the long run. I love my VW, but it sure ain't a cheap ride!!

Same happened to me this Xmas and whilst driving in the cross wind of a really bad storm. The combination of lights indicated that the wheel speed indicator and from that the stability control has failed, apparently (worth knowing in advance, dear reader) anyway, I was half way into the next carriageway before I recovered it and took more of an old school grip on the steering wheel. Fortunately there was no one there at that moment. VanTech independent VW specialist in Uckfield replaced the day after New Years within the hour for £200 ish - whilst I waited. I could have kissed 'em.

As an aside I found these guys on this forum and I've started using them only because the service side of our local VW Van centre (who shall remain nameless) had an absolute horror of a Service Consultant there for a couple of years. Combined with that, every time I detailed additional jobs I'd like done with the MOT and Service when they called, they took the full two days and not once had time for any of the requested jobs.
Got to love a good independent garage, same with our Disco 4 owned since new, we've used RCV in East Peckham for a decade. Welded up its four year old exhaust (a known issue with the model, to then anyway) after 12 months of me taking it back to the main dealer repeatedly, idiots. No more headaches - literally... Same exhaust, still. Sorry, I'm ranting.
