So an hour ago I was in my garden, cleaning the BBQ, lighting the fire pit, just tottering around waiting for my three BBQ guests to join me ....

I hear two little feet behind me and then big cries of "Granny Jenni ......... Granny Jenni"........

First time I've sen my grandboys since 25th December :):):):):):):)

So, who's had their "Oh Yessss moment" yet ....

have to go ....... two little boys --- running out of toys.... :D:D:D

Coming soon.... maybe this week!!

For those of us north of the border in Scotland, little has changed. I still can’t go see my mum before her hip op. My best friend in NL cannot visit (nor me visit him), whilst he and his family can visit his 90year old mother in a care home...
My dogs are getting frustrated and exhibiting behaviours they didn’t have when they were allowed to socialise with other dogs.
Heaven help new owners who have little idea of how to socialise dogs.
I am extremely happy @GrannyJen got to spend time with her wee ones today. I hope you enjoyed it. Take care x

Since our 85 year+ parents have been vaccinated completely, they can now receive 2 visitors, instead of 1 at a time. So, we have visited them together. That was a yess! moment.

One thing I realised with my recent problems with Max, not something you will have much of....

Max has become much more clingy in lockdown. He has been trained out of being left alone.

When he became an only dog 21 months ago we worked at getting him trained to be comfortable on his own. He pined a while for Bella, then fretted when we left him, but slowly he became trained to the idea and would just chill and go to sleep when left alone.

Now, with both of us at home all thew time, not even just popping out to the supermarket, he has become "untrained". Now working on getting him back chilled again.

I fully get that. When I took Ellie to Belgium for her “second husband”, my friend Klaas was still in Kuwait. So I had to leave 3 at home with a dogsitter and just take Ellie. Ever since, her daughter, Peaches, has been extremely possessive over me. She is now finally getting more relaxed. But still sadly there was a wee flare up the other day with her mum.
So, yes, I’m off topic, sorry.
I hope you had a fabulous day with the grandsons. Looking forward to meeting / seeing you all when we can xx

That's wonderful, we have been lucky with our granddaughters as we have had them two days a week with an overnight stay as we needed to care for them with schools being closed and their parents at work.

It's a good job I'm not Cali proud :D

Two questions in quick succession should have rung alarm bells.

"Granny Jenni, can I have a chocolate ice cream please?" ......"Granny Jenni can I go in the Campervan please?"

Granny Jenni is now cleaning chocolate fingerprints off her alcantara upholstery :D

It doesn't matter, I'm crying with happiness, and they are coming back on Sunday with their daddy so I can give my big boy his Easter egg :)

It’s only upholstery, you’ll be the best coolest Granny they have: ice cream , camper van, granny says YESSSSSSSSS :thumb

every cloud, you at least get to choose what you read in the forum now.
It is a lovely forum :cheers

Indeed. Sometimes though the way it is done leaves the wrong taste. If I'm no longer required then at least thank me for the time I have put in, not just kick me out. I have always found that good manners cost nowt.

There's a new woman with load of dogs making it work now.

Before you go on about equalities, the highest earner in the UK is a
lady. :)

Yes, runs a betting shop.

Good luck to her, I would rather admire dame Sharon white, a truly hard job to do running a huge business that all of a sudden has found it's High street business model torn from out under itself.

I think Dame Sharon will do it, and I would rather order from John Lewis than Amazon.

Goodness, hasn't it been a long wait :D
It was last August when we last saw our grandchildren.

We’ve only seen them in the flesh about 4 times in the past 15 months. And two of the existing four had only been around for 6 months when lockdown began.

And two more arriving over the coming months.

It has been a very. Long. Wait.

My big boy came round this morning to give me my Easter egg.

He brought his two little boys with him.

Guess who ate my Easter egg :D

Hopefully not Max the dog...
Glad to hear you had a good day.
Who gives a care (other words more appropriate) about Alacantara when you have family sticky fingers on them.

Max, unusually, is not fond of chocolate. Something that pleases me for every dog I know that does have a fondness for it also gets rid of it very quickly and messily.

I did catch one of my grand boys offering him a piece the other day, little Henry, he loves Max, and when I told him that it could be poisonous to dogs he burst into floods of tears at the thought of his Max being poorly :)

Oh bless Henry. But a very good lesson to learn at a young age. Most dogs would consider chocolate a treat. How is a child supposed to know.
