Reading about various control panel display failures, do people think it's best to leave the control unit completely off when nothing in the van is being used, to prolong the display's life?

Which leads to another question: do all charging functions on hook-up and when driving work as normal with the control unit off, or does it need to be on to for example ensure the vehicle battery is charging on hook-up and the leisure batteries when driving?

Thanks in advance

If I'm using nothing then I just turn it off anyway. No point having something eating away at battery power when not needed.

As for prolonging life, it should not be necessary.

I have no idea re. charging whilst the CP is switched off.

Ditto Jen, ours is off unless camping.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll make a point of leaving it off. I guess I can experiment re. the charging although I suspect it doesn't make any difference.

I think it will still charge with the panel switched off :thumb obviously the fridge and heater won't work
