Caravelle

The Cali has gone in (AGAIN!!) for a new rear diff so we have a brand new Olympian blue 140 Caravelle for a bit.

Brief observations are:

• It's quite refined compared to a Transporter but still a bit behind a Cali.
  Fairly nippy showing how heavy the Cali is, but it runs out of puff quite early compared to a 180.
  As bad on fuel as the Cali - shows it's our roads (and my driving) that gives scary mpg figures for ours - drove a fair bit today on country lanes and averaged 27.7mpg. Similar to the Cali.
  Lighter steering and feels a wee bit more agile - it has 16s which help but again there's a lot less weight.
  Cool seating stuff - love the little pull out table and other bits.
  A stereo that just SWITCHES ON!! Yes it's nice having a multimedia satnav system (Kenwood in ours) but the delay in it actually going on drives me slightly insane. I still have our original VW RNS310 and was almost tempted to fit it back in...!
  Front parking sensors (can't get them on a 4Motion) drive me mad - not needed at all.
  Looks fairly good with tinted glass too.

All in all, a decent van although they price (like a Cali) is a bit eye watering.
