Campsites

My Aunty said that they hired a camper van last year and she couldn't get over
how dear over night camping spots were for a van. They stayed on the
front at some seaside place rather than pay for sites! Is it true that it cost more for a camper van than car camping?

costs the same as a tents if you dont have electric.

Usually it's just a pitch price as you'll find a pitch is a certain size ..then off course electric etc etc ... I have found afew a pound or two more ,but tents with a car take up sometimes more space than a Cali does ..

Some sites charge extra for an awning, but if you are just using the standard Cali awning it normally counts as part of the van. I've only had one site try to charge me and in the end they 'let me off'.

There are a couple of other factors to consider: sometime it's better to use hard standing if the weather's been bad, and I'd be inclined to take the site manager's advice on this, so this may be a more expensive pitch. And some sites have an unmarked camping field just for tents with no power and often further from the loos, and these tend to be cheaper.

But, facility for facility the prices are no different.
