no horn or MFSW

it started with me loosing my horn!.

no horn but then noticed the MFSW wasnt working for volume control on the radio etc etc.

long story short, ive got a really good auto electrician pulling his hair out.
are there any common faults with these symptoms?.

any advice greatly recieved

Could be the slip ring / clock spring in the steering column. Item 2 in diagram.

if thats item 2, hes already replaced that!!

Has your mech. scanned with a VCDS to look for communication problems?
