Hi

I've seen a couple of parts specialists selling an adapter plate for the T5 that reduces or lowers the throw of the handbrake, to allow the driver's seat to rotate whilst the brake is on.

Has anyone fitted one to their California?? Any good?

Many thanks

Andy

Put it in gear. Release the handbrake. Rotate the seat. Reapply the hand brake. Done.

I think these only allow you to do what is already possible with the Cali. In other words, they allow you to swivel the drivers seat with the handbrake off. They don't allow you to swivel with it on, which would be really nice!

They are designed for swivel plates from other manufacturers which must be lower than the Cali ones.

Hope this helps.

In our household it's :-

Open drivers side door in the rain and dark, try to turn the seat, realise you've left the handbrake up, put it in gear, try to release handbrake from where you are, realise you've put it on too tight to be able to release it from this position, curse, slip back off the drivers seat (now with a wet back), step in some mud, open sliding door, shoes off, into van, release handbrake, shoes on, back outside, realise the inside of the drivers door is now wet from the rain, rotate seat slightly, realise you need to wind the seat back further forwards, try again, remember to move adjustable steering wheel up and in, try again, scrape the side of the trim with the seat back adjustment knob and success. Back outside, wetter back, close drivers door, open sliding door, forget to take off your muddy shoes. Cup of tea. Remember the magazine you want to read is the the drivers seat rear pocket which is now facing the other way.

"and then relax".

Mmmmm, it's not possible to rotate the drivers seat with the hand brake on in the T4.

Park. In gear. Rotate. Hand brake, making sure the seat isn't to far rearwards on the runners or the door pocket gets cracked when you slam the door :headbang
