Driveaway awning connection

Having watched quite a few YouTube videos on connecting the driveaway to the fiamma windout I was just wondering if anyone else connects the "figure of 8" to the top of it to give extra head room and ease of use?

Yes that's exactly what we do, makes reconnection a breeze. Park , wind out awning a bit then erect driveaway, connect and wind back to tension. Also used them together with wind out fully deployed and then attached driveaway for extra space when 4 grand kids staying!

Yes I do this as long as high winds are not forecast, if they are I connect it with a kador strip.
