Our cali is two years out of warranty and the display had horizontal lines and the knob was wobbly.
We had the fault confirmed at the local van centre and contacted vw customer care with a request for a contribution towards the cost as we have been loyal customers and had all previous work done by our local van centre.
The van centre was not prepared to make a contribution but they advised us to pursue the matter with vw customer care.
Initially the response was no contribution but we stressed how disappionted we were with the quality of the control unit and how it had not been misused and after a second telephone call we were told they would make a 50% contribution towards the cost.
So if your van is out of warranty, get in touch with customer care-you have nothing to lose and you may well save a few hundred pounds!
