Changing bulbs in front reading lights

Hi,

Has anyone changed the bulbs in the front reading lights? The centre one just pulls out from its contacts, but the two side bulbs are only accessible from the rear. This requires the light unit to be removed first. Any advice on doing this would be welcome. Please see image.
