Best place to store safety net

Hello all, I am hoping that someone will be able to point out the obvious place/s in which to store the child safety net when not in use? Ideally, I would like to keep it in Cali so that I don't forget it when I go away, but I don't want it to get damaged floating around in the boot with shopping etc. in the meantime. I did wonder if it might lay up on the roof bed when the roof is down, but I am scared to try in case it causes a problem with the bellows folding in.

Any advice or suggestions will be much appreciated as always!

Ours is stored safely in the garage - if the kids fall out it is their own fault!!!

They are 11 and 13 though now
