"Bike Porn"-your rides and how/where you use them

Are they still short of supply?
Yes. Brompton have them made in batches (Ti frames are outsourced to a 3rd party UK builder) and then assemble at the factory in London. The batches are released every 2-3 months. In Germany you have to pick them up at one of the 2 Brompton junction stores.
But after seeing this one 2 weeks ago I want to inspect it in person before paying the balance. Totally unacceptable on a 5250 Euro bike.

I ended up getting a P Line and making a few weight saving mods. Nothing like the weight of the T Line though. Couldn’t justify the additional cost, knowing that I had my new bike coming

Yes it s a big jump but it's more than just weight. Most of the components were completely redesigned for the model. And I like the fact they use proper standard bike bottom brackets, handlebar stems etc. making it much easier to modify and upgrade.
My first ride was on the bike shops P-Line and I was not expecting it to be so good. Convinced me to order the T-Line as a 60th B'day gift to myself.

Sounds good! I’ve got 10 years to save up :)
Would much prefer the Ti model, for the look of nothing else!

Ordered a Ti bike for my 50th (in June), it was finally made and built up this week. Took it straight down to the New Forest for a weekend of gravel riding

First overnight tour on our triplet, a twenty minute ride to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel, where, after checking on line the night before, found the north lift was closed.

So we took the Thames Clipper Ferry to Canary Wharf (£2.95 children, £5.90 adult).

From there we followed the Regents Canal to Victoria Park in Hackney, the Hertford Union Canal to the Olympic Park, and finally the River Lee Navigation Canal to Cheshunt, where we spent the night in the Youth Hostel (£85).

In summary, from the boundary of Inner/outer London in SE London, we cycled and took the Ferry to central London, then cycled through the whole of the East London - on a motor traffic free route, crossing first the inner/outer London boundary then the Greater London boundary into Hertfordshire.

We returned home the following day, diverting to Tower Bridge to avoid the closed lift at the Greenwich Foot Tunnel.

Downstream of Tower Bridge there are three free crossings of the Thames which should be open to us, the Woolwich Foot Tunnel, the Woolwich Ferry and the Greenwich Foot Tunnel.

I find it annoying that all three were unavailable. The Woolwich Ferry is temporarily suspended on Saturdays and Sundays (and has been suspended nearly every weekend for about three years). The north lift at the Woolwich Ferry has been out of use for about 18 months. And the north lift at the Greenwich Foot Tunnel was inexplicably closed this weekend.

Two protestors were jailed recently for five years seven months for disrupting traffic for 36 hours over the Dartford Bridge. Greenwich Council and TfL have disrupted traffic through the foot tunnels and over the ferry for years - but with impunity.

Had a cheeky morning at Leamington bike park yesterday.
Not bad at all for a quick blast.
Red jump line is a bit hairy but all good. :thumb

Newbold just round the corner from me. Been a massive hit and great for the area. The nimby’s aren’t happy, but you can’t please everyone…
The kids track is great for the little ones to practice riding.

We’ve had a lot of rain this last few weeks. How are the trails holding up…?

Did a forest track two weeks ago. Unbelievably boggy. Bike took a while to clean.

Amazingly grippy despite the rain. Hard pack. You could really push before it let go.

Same build company have done this in Brum.

Thanks! Turns out this place is five minutes from where I'm going to have some new wheels fitted to the van, so I can kill some time mucking about on the bike while they do it.

Green Hill bike park. Anyone?

Heading over there in a couple of weeks for a boyz weekend. Looks bonkers. o_O

Probs book local camping.

So all this porn peaked my interest!
Had a great ride/hike up to Corryhabbie (local bump cairngorms) today. Bloody chore on the way and was thinking hiking is better!
Then the way back happened and remembered why I like bike exploring.
Sorry for screen grabs but pics struggle to upload to much data. Didn’t see a soul is it really a bank holiday weekend.IMG_6654.pngIMG_6653.pngIMG_6656.pngIMG_6641.pngIMG_6655.png

An area I like heading out for day to from home too.
suie ruins always look so sad, but there is also a bothy I usually bypassed but visited last year.
i can usually pedal up most of the steep zigzag path, but have to push a couple hundred metres of the steepest and loose rocky parts.
have you seen the elf cave, it’s marked on OS map.
I also like the singletrack down to ladder foot from ladder hills. But needs a 1km bike push from east side to access. Can do it on a big loop from Cabrach over to Glen buchat on tracks.

I’ve live close by (no car needed) its my local stomping ground, have hiked all the bumps around the ladders.
First time I’ve taken a bike up one, and yep cheated and walked up with it. Ride down was bliss apart from that section you struggle to ride up, some big loose rocks!!
The bothy is nice even has a compost loo. Very rarely see anyone down there.
Blackwater lodge is even more sad, massive ruin on the cabrach side.
