What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

I didn't buy them today, but took advantage of the good weather and fitted the H7 headlights, recoded to keep the dips on when the main beam is on. Much easier than I feared, even though neither of the videos I watched had front parking sensors so I nearly pulled that wire off! Amazing how easy it is to pull the front off once you pluck up the courage to give it a good tug!

Fitted the draw kit yesterday, pleased with looks and quality however everything that was in the cupboard didn’t go back in draws but it should make life easier to find stuff without having to get on your knees, time will tell..F0EF00EB-ECF9-4F5C-9A10-7DE5E78457EB.jpeg

Are they a straight swap connector/coding wise? Also how much to purchase? Thanks.

Simple swap yes, if you want the dips to stay on when high beam is on (which you will do) you need to recode for that, did that with the beta Carista. Picked them up on eBay with 130% bulbs, LED DRLs and sidelights for £190.

ooh do they just fit within the wheel wells ? no drilling required for the rear? if so where did you get them from please.
I have these on mine very easy to fit 15 mins . Went for these stubbies as my van is lowered 30mm and the factory flaps were attached to the rear bumper which if bottomed out would be an expensive repair £160 v £33 from customveedubs eBay

I went a little bit crazy with this weeks order. I took a picture of my "van shelf" in the garage on Friday and its getting quite scary, think i should maybe order a second van for my overspill of accessories.

Are you sure you’ve got the correct air safe ? I thought all oceans had the closing assistance.

I know there has been some concern and possibly confusion around post-Brexit purchases from the EU. Thought I’d share my own experience buying a set of Ukatex seat covers.
  • Website Price €199.99 inc 19% German Tax
  • Postage to UK €35 as agreed via email (UK is removed from list of values in website drop down currently so order must be made by email)
  • I received an invoice for €203.06 in which it was evident Ukatex had correctly removed the 19% Tax and itemised the covers at €168.06
Courier seemingly despatched by DHL in Europe but handed to Parcelforce at some point prior to customs. Tracking updates throughout and a letter received today informing me of the charges due. Breakdown pictured below but the only ‘extra’ charge in my view is the £12 fee charged by Parcelforce for their admin in clearing customs.
  • Order date was 22nd Jan
  • Despatched by Ukatex on 22nd Feb (they warn to expect 4-6 weeks)
  • Cleared customs and in the Poole Parcelforce depot on 2nd March
  • It was clearing customs between 26th March and 1st March (including a Sat/Sun)
I Hope to share a photo of my new covers soon - may be a while though as I want to valet (and properly dry) the originals before covering them up.

Hell of a shopping list.
This one caught my eye, having just bought similar myself. Not sure why you wouldn’t have got the T6.1 version?

The T6.1 ends in 614 as the code. Only difference is that the T6.1 version is about 90mm longer on the bit that slides under the rear bench. It’s more important to get the right version for any boot carpets as the light is in a different place and the boot is shorter and for the front footwell carpets as the shape is different.

That’s for the heads up guys. I will see if I can exchange it.

Finally got the right size spare wheel and tyre from an “expert supplier” of spare wheels on eBay that basically told me I had the carrier cradle on the higher setting (used if you have 16 inch wheels my Eva has 18 inch Palmerston's ) you guessed it it was on the lowest setting to get the max available space into which the wheel could’ve placed. For the record this is 23 cm max thickness. Tyre installed 215/60r17 all season 107/109 rated. I hate being treated like an idiot. Having a spare wheel to use rather than use the inflating kit gives a good second option depending on the flat and damage. One final note alarm went off on van as I hacked it up whilst unlocked. Nice to know !
