Vw Roof bars

Hello, I'm struggling to install the vw roof bar set 7H7071126. The brackets won't close down into roof channel. Is there something I'm missing? Has anyone else struggled in this way? It's almost as if the tab on the top foot protrudes just a bit too far. Any help very much appreciated! Thanks

sorry I'm not familiar with part no.s

Our VW roof bars are very easy to take on/off, not a lot f help to you except you know it can be done.
Can you post some photos ?

Start by loosening the screw and then insert the roof carrier down at the end of the track, on the black plastic and then move the bracket in place and tighten
