T5 California Control Panels

We have some T5 Cali re-con central control panels coming in stock soon if anyone is interested.

Do these need to be coded to the van? If not, does that mean if I had once of these in the van as a spare and the fitted one broke, I could simply swap them over? If so, seems like a good insurance policy to me.
