Should I buy a 4 motion?

Hi guys,
First post from a newbie, please help ASAP!
Been looking actively for a Cali since Xmas (passively for 18 months) with a tale of woe so far.
Have a T5 Kombi now so know a bit about the pitfalls (and joys) of VW's finest.
However, going to view a 4 motion tomorrow and would appreciate your views ref. the 4 motion bit, which I know little about.
Should I or shouldn't I???

It was an essential extra for us. Makes it a very versatile vehicle and I simply don't get on with FWD, big weight and fairly high power/torque.

Its a bit like having a big SUV without everyone hating you!

Thanks KL for replying.
Sad now, another tale of woe.
Was gazumped last night despite being promised 'first refusal'.
Can't really blame the seller, an extra 3K would probably have turned my head.
They were nice enough to call me back to tell me.
To the buyer: Hope your gearbox drops out!
No, I don't even really mean that either, just feeling a bit low.
Worst bit was telling my youngest!

Like I told the Hewlett Packard repair man: one day my prints will come... :doh
