Our 2019 Cali ocean is in for its first MOT in September 2022.
question is - do we also get it serviced? We’ve driven 9,000 miles to date and it had an oil change 12 months ago.
we would prefer to have service and MOT together to save the 50 mile round trip to the dealership.

advice on the service schedule would be appreciated. TIA

Some would, some wouldn't...

I would...

But there's really no right or wrong... Better to get over serviced than under serviced I suppose...

When does your warranty end? If at the same time then get in for a VW service just before.

Go over everything....door seals, interior trim, performance of engine. Any niggles or issues then raise a claim with the VW garage at the time of servicing.

After 3 years it is overdue a service...normally every 18months.

Mine was 3 in April and initially they told me it needed a service then changed their minds so I had the air con checked and brake fluid changed along with the MOT. Then when I get home, 50 mile trip, the display comes up with service required! After another call to the dealer they double checked and confirmed I didn’t need a service and it’s easy enough to reset the service interval after watching someone on YouTube do it. However when I checked the oil level just before going to Camperjam the oil looked so black I’ve booked it in for an oil and filter change at an independent VW specialist tomorrow.

I had two services included in the purchase, I’ve used one at 2 years old, so have one left. I assume an additional oil change service at 3 would use up the remaining service leaving me to pay for what I expect will be a more expensive service at 4 years old, which I why I’ve opted to pay for this oil service myself.

We do ours together. Less hassle. They do the MOT first and then anything that needs doing gets done as part of the service. It also means if they’ve called me to ask to do something, they can crack on with the service while waiting for me to call back!

I haven’t been to a dealer for years though. So no warranty complications.
