Scenic / Safeguard / Swinton Renewal doubled the premium

Just had my renewal quote from Scenic for my 2nd year with the new Ocean 150... premium went from from approx £425 to over £800, then "reduced" to just over £700 over the phone with a mileage adjustment. Seems to be way off market to me. The reason given is that the best underwriter from last year is no longer offering cover, so it goes to the next one down.

Time to shop around again. (Note that Scenic, Safeguard and Swinton are one and the same.)
