Rear number plate

Has anyone removed the rear number plate has the tailgate been drilled by the dealer or does the tailgate come with pre drilled holes it’s just my front plate was screwed on to the bumper and the screw heads had rusted off nearly

The tailgate comes with threaded inserts in the panel ready for screws - if you look closely on the photo you can just see them

Normally they are just fitted with plastic screws front and back if not stuck on by main dealer.

Common for dealers of all makes to ignore the threaded inserts and just drill fresh holes + use self tappers.. they dont give a *****

I’ve replaced the hideous dealer plates I got with stick on ones. The front ones were clearly drilled by someone who had had a few at lunchtime.

Normally they are just fitted with plastic screws front and back if not stuck on by main dealer.

Not mine the front was screwed on with steel self tapping screws that just snapped off when trying to remove the plate not bothered about the front as they were screwed into plastic and I managed to get the old bits out.
but let’s hope the same fool hasn’t done that to the rear I will check today
