Hi All,
It's annoying getting a wet doorstep when opening the drivers door or window after rain.
Looking at the awning, there is a rubber seal between the awning and the roof rail running between the support brackets, located into the roof rail. As this ends at the support bracket, there is a gap above the drivers door that allows pooled rain water to run off the awning onto the door and anyone opening it.
Has anyone attempted to obtain a section of the rain seal and fit it? If so, did it work and where did you get it?

Thanks

Colin

Where would you fit it? And no. Its not an issue

I had the same situation in/after the rain this weekend and had similar thoughts. I've not considered a solution in detail yet but channelling forward and onto the windscreen may be possible?

As a quick and low-tech solution a rag/towel between awning and roof ahead of the front bracket would help for a short time.

Put a raised Stop at the end of the seal over drivers door so water pools/ runs to the rear, or park nose-up.

Is this your solution?

Owned my Cali 15 years and always have this drip onto once its rained. All over the switches on the top of the door when the windows open.
I don't let it bother me tbh. Although the Heko wind deflectors look to be a great solution. I had these on my T4 and thought they were great but never got around to fitting them on my T5. Maybe this will be next upgrade.

It's a Brandrup product, available from Campervantastic in the UK.

Not sure why but the 2nd link doesn't appear to have copied over properly either!

If its raining outside then when you open the door and go outside you will get wet. This is unfortunately a truth about camping, the awning dribble is the California's way of preparing you for this, just pity the continental bretheren as it is the passenger that will be whining at them, And we all know how that will go on and on and on!
