Hello folks

We've been driving our new Cali for just over a week now - wonderful.

Few questions for the experienced amongst you:

- can you recommend floor mats that would cover the driver and passenger foot areas? The Cali carpet is too plush and is covered in snowy footmarks and is pretty dirty now.

- rear cupboard door rattles from time to time. Is this just a fact of life, or do you have any tips to muffle the rattle?

- going over to France in August. What do we need to do about the headlights and how?

- drive away awnings. Lots on the market - any favourites?

- and finally, any general tips for newbies??

Many thanks, and look forward to joining you all soon.

Richard

Welcome to Cali ownership.

Can answer a few question.

Try the VW MONSTER MATS . Rubber and have big grooves so can swallow mud and snow with no issue.
In France now and I bought the VW HEADLIGHT protectors . They come with stickers and location markings. They are expensive compared to the stick on type but are reusable and protect the the light lenses as well. Photocopy the stickers and use the template to make more if needed.

Our rear cupboard does not rattle but the small window blind next to it does. Try closing it.

Khyam awning seems the favourite of most. We have a khyam screenhouse . Not an awning as its standalone but the same as a motordome without the joining part.

Regards

John

Yes get vw monster mats, are brilliant. For european driving you are legally required to use 'beam benders' of some description. Search forum this has been discussed before at length. Drive away awnings has also been discused several times. Please use search button, or google.
