Stayed here last night, and previously we stayed in 1996 (Mrs M keeps a camping log book).

It hasn't changed much, in 1996 she wrote that it was muddy and the farmer let us stay in the stony car park. This time it wasn't muddy but after parking up in the field we were told by the lady in attendance to move to the same (stony) car park. Which we did but then she asked us to park the other way round, do this, do that etc etc. See the photos below to give you an idea .... :D

We were charged £15. In 1996 it was £6. Showers are £1 (2018).

The site hasn't got much going for it, basic but clean facilities; but it is convenient for Malham, which is a quaint little village with two pubs; and Malham Cove, which is a must see - Google it.

Out of 10 I would give it a 6, based on the location. If it wasn't where it was it would be a 3.

Lol! I love it! So many rules listed that I would guess if it's not listed it must be permitted.

My three brothers and I are taking mum and dad to Malham for a weekend in August, just the six of us: no wives or children/grandchildren (but dogs allowed). We are staying at Beck Hall, but will look out for Malham Cove Farm.

Yes I think so. After we had parked on the grass at Malham, and were told to move to the car park, the lady suggested that if we wanted to camp on grass Gordale had spaces.

Yesterday we walked up to the cove and up the steps and over the limestone pavements, then took the more easterly footpath to Malham Tarn. Coming back we used the Pennine Trail and it was really hard going with the rocks and stones! Particularly for Marg - if you recall when we were at Eskdale she was recovering from a foot operation and has never been 100% .....

Wow - and to think people complain about the number of rules at C&MC sites!
