We had a couple of days of summer last week (it's back to winter now) so we managed to fit in our maiden voyage in the new Cali.
We popped down the road to Gerardmer in the Vosges, which has numerous campsites.
We chose Camping de Ramberchamp as we could get quite close to the lake:

As the forecast for the night was +2°C, we decided to sleep downstairs, roof closed, which we wanted to test anyway.
The bed seemed a bit firm & a bit narrow and there was not a lot of room left for "stuff", especially with the Ploo installed, but it was de-luxe compared with our usual 2-man Vango ridge tent!
Next morning, the view from the breakfast table was not too bad:
Lots of nice walks in the area, including all round Lac de Gerardmer.
The whole region (Gerardmer-Longemer) is a mass of wild daffodils at this time (usually a couple of weeks earlier, for the daffodil festival, but nature was late this year):
Next night, we tried the municipal campsite at Longemer, where there was plenty of space, but no lake view:

There, we tried sleeping upstairs & found that was a much better idea.
Softer, more room in bed & more room for stuff downstairs.
No problem getting up or down either...
Less condensation.
Great awakening with sunrise through the unzipped D-window.
Beginners' observations?
- Hard work lowering & shutting the tailgate, especially for Mme. (1m52 & 50kg).
- Need a doormat!
- Committed error 'h' on Do's & Don'ts list (drove off with hook-up flap flapping - saw it in the mirror before it broke).
- Impressed by micro-fibre towels which save a lot or space & dry quickly.
- Saw the monster of Loch Gerard:
