New customizations possible with latest version of CARISTA(rev9) .
With setting in title you can turn ignition on at night without Daylight Running Lights on.All you have to do is set light switch to 0. Before this customization DRL were always on when ignition on and inconvenient when on campsite and wanted to raise/lower roof or change heating mode late at night.
I tested it and indeed works on T6.1 ocean 2022.

I never really understood why the Scandies sensibly add rear DRLs when we only have front.

I assume that an MOT test requires the DRL’s to be on if the ignition is on and the headlight switch is in the off position although if you have auto lights I guess a tester will not bother to switch to the off position.

Yes, you are right. IF a MOT tester was to check the DRL and notice the changed behavior (DRL not on when ignition is on) than this could result in a failed test. I don't know how it's organized in the UK, but the Dutch MOT (called APK) is done mostly in the same garage as where the regular maintenance is done. I guess you'll be able to "explain" the changed behavior to the tester. Having lived in Switzerland in the past, I would not change the settings of a Swiss California, because the Swiss "MOT" is very, very strickt and done exclusively in a cantonal (governmental) testing center, with no room "to play"...:)
