Californian Arctic

Check you out with your 14v !

I've read about this but never really investigated.
My syncro had the upgraded loom when I bought it so it was on my list to do on the California. The silver syncro we have needs it even more as that only getting 11v and the light is terrible but the wiring has been fiddled with already so its a nightmare to trace. Its well worth doing. Some folk on the JustT4 FB page a questioning why bother but I dont get their train of thought.

On the subject of lights, I drove my new van the other night and I have to say the headlights are unbelievable. The best light I've ever seen on a vehicle.
Apart from the range and brightness, the spread across the road is fantastic.

I understand they are bixenon from an A4. A fab conversion.

I need to check the voltage on them.

Managed to get out for a mini road trip with my mate who came over from the UK. After a few false starts due to the weather, we popped down the Kystriksveien to see the glacier at Engabreen. We would have gone further down to Mo-i-rana but there was a storm brewing and the ferries sometime don't run so we travelled back. This was the first time I realised I had crap window wipers and the new headlight were woefully under-adjusted (now fixed)

It's my favourite time of the year when the smurf turns into the perfect aurora hunting base

I always wondered how the Aurora Borealis looks like in real life.
If you see it on TV, it looks like the speed is like x3 or more.
Does it move that "fast"? Or is it slower?

The snow has almost gone so it's time for summer tyres and summer sun up herr

Been checking on various webcams. On my way on the 15th.. Probably as far north as Trondheim this time.

It varies. It can come over in big bursts that move really fast with lots of colour or you can get these slow waves that wallow over. Its a sight to behold either way. Newer cameras with their super sensitivity can pick it up really well these days.

After a crazy heat wave its been snowing decently lately with freezing at night, I am not driving in Norway on summer tires, crossclimate+ at least. ;)
Looks like some roads are opened pretty late this year.

There was a flurry of snow for a couple of days after that photo. It was forecast but folk just thought it would melt but is was quite bad. I'd just escaped back to work when it came. The same thing happened last year when we swapped to summer tyres! Within a week it went from 24 DegC to 0!

Yeah the weather is all over the place but the snow should bugger off soon fingers crossed.

Can you spot the smurf? This is waterfall thats usually quite mundane and tucked away out of sight but when the snow beings to melt, it comes alive!

spotted, impressive stuff.:thumb

The bra came off finally. I fancied a change. We finally got out up and down the north coast road where we are. It's soooo beautiful

A few more from that trip. We got stuck on the beach on the last photo. Same place where we camped last year but the rain had softened up the grassy soil. Thankfully a tractor next door pulled us out.

I finally got around to fitting the factory fog lights too (not the ones big ones). I foolishly thought I could replace the halo bulbs with an LED ring but whilst melting the adhesive, the lens broke! Doh. The saving grace is that I really love having the original lights back in. I filled in the nose grille surround in black and resprayed the bumpers. It's a start but it looks loads better
