Brandrup Isolite (or extreme) vs external thermal windscreen cover

Hi everyone

after being away for many consecutive nights now in our lovely new Cali, we are starting to get a bit tired of picking away a constantly wet exterior windscreen cover (we have the club shop one). When it’s raining when packing away it’s also an additional pain. First world problems.

We’ve always been put off from the internal thermal blinds you can get because we always though they suckered on to the windows (yuk!) but we’ve now noticed that the Brandrup Isolite and the extreme versions don’t. Not quite sure how they work but there are no suckers !

Has anyone out there got these? Or ideally had both? Pros/Cons etc???

Yes they attach via a thin strip of Velcro and fit really well that is the reason they work so well and as a bonus they store flat in the roof

I use it, no velcro used, it sits fine behind mirro and blinds.

Bit of a catch 22 situation. As you say the outside one gets wet but we've found that you get far more condensation on tne inside of the windows with the internal ones despite leaving the windows open a bit for ventilation. Personally I favour the outside themal one when it;s really cold.

Just bought the Isolite internal screen and window covers from the club shop. The fit looks snug / good and should let less into the van plus do a job to insulate against the cold and heat.

Quick questions - we are assuming the self adhesive Velcro tape is applied to the screen and not headlining?
Also, on the passenger side, down below the visible bit of the windscreen, there’s a foam rubber price around 120mm long stuck between the screen and dash. Is this expendable, as it interferes with the cover slotting down there?? Nothing on drivers side. Light grey block on the photo below…
