Anyone have an Ocean insured with LV?

We too have an Admiral multicar policy and after an equal amount of explanation and wait whilst they confirmed what the Ocean was came back and agreed to cover it as a third vehicle. They cover campervans and all the camping kitchen etc equipment. Happy and comfortable with them as I work in Insurance and went through everything with them!

I have been with LV for 8 yrs, 2 cars and now a cali, the latter was insured for £200!! I have had to make a claim for a car being stolen last year and never recovered, they paid a VERY reasonable sum as the market value (and for stolen satnav) AND WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF THEFT. They did not hike up my premium significantly because of this. I cannot fault them

Really strange that lv told you that
I was assured that the whole vehicle is fully covered
Also European use 90 days
As all calls are recorded I feel confident in the cover
Your choice ... I’m not doing a p r job for lv
Regards Geoff
I agree that it is strange. It is a good job that companies record calls.

I’m with LV= too.
It clearly states in the documentation that for all factory fitted in-car equipment there is unlimited cover.
They know what a Cali is.

Yep got a nearly £600 Social Domestic only Renewal with Safeguard (LV Highway). Admiral Multicar £380 inc business, got an additional discount as other car going on from October (quote fir that still cheaper tban existing), so much for specialist insurers!

I know bit late to this conversation, but as a former claims advisor with LV, if a total loss they will take into account current market value of a model for model equivalent so they will look at places like auto trader they don't look at glasses guide as Joe public cannot buy trade, you can also include any extras you have added to be taken into account like tow bars etc, but will ask for proof of purchase. Hope this helps. Note LV is part of a bigger company now so policies can change.

I’m currently going through this process with LV, Iv got a multi car policy & wanted to add on my California when it arrived, they said it will show on the paperwork as a “Petrol” and they don’t need the value of it either . Just didn’t feel much confidence from them. Iv spoke to Comfort since & I think I mite end up going with them as the lady was full of information and recognised what I was trying to insure. Not 100% sure, I will go back to LV nearer the time as I’d prefer to insure all my vehicles in one place.

Just arranging cover for the new Ocean. We’ve used Safeguard in the past, called them and the policy proposed is underwritten by Highway, part of LV. Now, our cars are insured with LV on a multi car policy, so I called them. Price was very good. However, they are not interested in the model. All they want to know is that it’s a VW, it’s a campervan and the engine size. No model or value required. This made me nervous. I tried to explain it’s a factory built, not a conversion etc. They said they would not insure the ‘contents’ but if the vehicle was stolen, written off, burned to the ground etc, they would pay out market value of the vehicle. I’ve asked them to send the clauses through which define ‘contents’ but I’m wary to say the least. Does anyone have any experience of LV and Oceans?
Used lv for 4?years
Ocean premium £260
Had a claim 2 years ago for a new door
