On our six year old Beach at 39000 miles the ABS, brakes and tyre pressure warning lights suddenly all lit up.
A friendly VW agent in France diagnosed a rear LH ABS sensor failure and suggested we continue our holiday.
It looks like a job that can be done at home but, having replaced the part, will I need a code reader to reset the codes
or will the lights go off by themselves?

Wiring to the LH rear sensor is known to cause this problem. Wiring from the sensor up to body apparently.

The codes will need resetting/clearing.

When I replaced the front sensors, the lights went off after driving about 20 yards, so yours might do the same.

Sometimes they will clear themselves other times you will need to clear them with an OBD2 reader. I bought a Carista which worked brilliantly. At £25 it pays for itself on the first use.
