My multiflex board has annoyed me since I got the van. Not flexible and spent most of the time in the garage.

having looked at the 3 seat beach, I figured it would be easy to copy so I’ve made a new board and mechanism. The front 260mm folds down now using folding shelf brackets. This allows me to slide the board forwards and increases the boot space by 8 inches or allows a the rear bench to move back that far creating a bigger cabin area.

The rear 400mm is then hinged and can fold forwards allowing dogs to sit on the floor or tall items to be placed in the boot on the floor.

I’ll be sanding & painting this weekend and i’m contemplating covering with grey carpet.

Less than £50 to do and about 5 hours work with basic diy tools. It could be done neater if you can weld by I can’t.

That looks a great solution. Thanks for posting your ideas.

Please may I ask, where did you source the two metal legs from, and are they the right height when the Cali twin seat/bed is folded down ?

Many thanks, Matt
