Email received today, the camping in the forest sites, Setthorns, Matley wood, longbeech and all the other great sites have been sorted and will be run by new owners.
Doesn’t say what’s happening with Scottish ones as Glenmore isn’t mentioned.
Hopefully prices will stay cheap, and sounds like all the staff get to keep there jobsCC32087D-C81E-41DD-987C-66866F8DADAB.png

No mention of online booking? Setthornes appears to be bookable on Pitchup. One night, midweek in March £14 for grass no electric. Still cheap and a great site but I think I used to pay a lot less.

That was the temp set up they had whilst looking for someone to take on sites. Only changed hands today.
I’m not sure if they will keep using pitchup, can’t ask Rachael (setthorns manager)at mo as I’m still in cairngorms.
Hopefully they will have their own booking site and prices will go back to normal.

How’s the joker going, miss my old silver t6 one.
Not the same roughing it in a kombi conversion.

Will they continue to have the tie in with camping and caravanning club I wonder

Does this include Roundhill?
I was unaware Camping in the Forest was changing hands. I naively thought they were part of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

Camping and caravan club was running it, but there was a massive fallout with forestry commission.
So that’s why it’s changed hands.

I imagine roundhill is included as it says 10sites in new forest so that is Denny wood, ocknell, longbeech, matley wood, setthorns, ashurst, Hollands wood, Holmsley, Aldridge hill and roundhill that’s there list.
Great sites but most don’t have facilities, been going to them for years and pleased for the staff and volunteers.

Still loving it! I am going to have a chat with Rob about getting solar panels.
That’s good, sounds like westfalia managed to build your one ok (very jealous)

Ask Rob to do what I had on my t6.1 he has all the info, don’t get stick on as they will fail at some point lots of hassle. Plus they over heat too.

All the sites are on Pitch up for booking now

We like Roundhill a lot but then showed up for 5 days to discover no facilities. Luckily had Portapotti with us. Was hoping facilities would return.

Tried Hollands Wood but didn’t like as much.

They’re been on there for the last few months whilst it’s all been in limbo.
I’m not sure if they will stay on there or if booking direct will be cheaper as it’s all change again with new owner taking over 1st feb

I tend to go to matley wood, longbeech no facilities but not to busy in summer.
Setthorns in winter as it’s open all year great site but gets very busy in summer.

I booked for April and assume it’s all ok!
