What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

Like it. How did you get the tailgate badge off. Hairdryer and floss? I like the idea of the bonnet guard. How does it look to you in the 'flesh'?
I bought a trim removal kit from Halfords (black roll up bag one) very handy. Just went round slowly prising badge off (I did crack the black surround of old badge) so heat may help.

The bonnet guard is stuck on with 3M tape, first impressions is I like it.
Fits very well, should give good protection from stone chips but bought firstly for the look.
Have also taped one chrome strip, with black electrical tape (still deciding whether to do other)
If I do I will get them wrapped or buy the black grill kit. The front grill needs removing to fit new strips though.

Thanks for the info on removal and placement. I mentioned in previous post that I was torn between leaving the iconic chrome badge in place or getting a matt black version. After seeing your van I think I'll have to get the black ones!! Also do really fancy the bonnet guard. It looks good!

There’s two versions I bought the full length bonnet guard, plus they do it in carbon or silver.
That’s the one I got7633630A-54B6-4A29-8CE8-E78421412A2B.png

Was a little scary fitting it, would definitely be easier with two people like they advise but turned out perfect

I don't like bike racks so I've bought this folding pub bike from the 80s. Might be a bit gay but we will see ,better than those 2k bromptons and less to worry about on site but how long til I crash it?

I think you’ll be fine…. On the way there.
However, on the way back, someone at least 1.6x drunker than you is going to insist on a backie STANDING on the rack. #bsaditchfinder

@flying banana
You’re politically incorrect to suggest the bike is a bit ‘gay’ AND factually wrong, the gay version is called the Bender not the Folder. :)

I used this company for the midge mesh - it’s very strong and

sews well. Going to use a little spare to cover vents in the pop top with the finer mesh.

Used 1st4magnets for the magnets as they have so much choice.
Thanks for these links they really helped, I have made up a my first net and am pleased with the result.

Can I ask how you attach the rear midge net please? With the boot open I can attach magnet to the top half of the opening. The rest is plastic so I cannot use magnets. It looks as though you might have have taken the net for the bottom outside of the space and held it in place with magnets on the outside of the vehicle. Is that right?
Thanks
Alan

Hi - so great you have had a go too! Yes for the tailgate i shaped them round the lights (a good 10cm round) with a magnet sewed inside the end of a tie which reaches the metal body. I also put a couple of little weights in the binding on the bottom to weigh it down in the wind.
I have now done the sliding door, sliding window, and passenger and driver windows too - so hopefully all covered! Been a great project for me during a stressful time at work - no screen involved!

Your wasting your time trying to keep midges out. Everytime you go in and out the van the little foogars are in there. Have a camp fire and go to the pub is my tip. Works everytime

Avon Skin So Soft helps, too.

Caught out by "The middle of Lidl" - again! I suppose that at some time they will get an airing. £19.99. Gas heating only.
