Waterproofing canvas pop top

Hi there I’m looking at waterproofing the canvas pop top and was wondering if there are any products you would recommend or avoid?

Also any pitfalls to watch out for and how often should you waterproof the canvas?

It’s not strictly recommended but my van is 2008 and I thought I might give it a go.
I used this. Seemed to work ok. One large can covered it.

I would give a coat of waterproofing every couple of years. It certainly worked.... costs about £10 for enough to do the whole canvas.
