Hi,
Could anyone recommend a nice site not too far from Calais?

Were heading over for 1 week only with our 15year old son at the end of May and we normally head South and stay in La Baumé Campsite which is quite lively with plenty going on for our son but we don’t want to do too much driving so looking for something much closer. Thanks for your help. Stuart

Not far from Calais.
Not the cheapest, but easy access, just a few miles down of the highway in Guînes.
Agreed - our site of choice for landing/departing from France.

Also - https://www.camping-saintlouis.com

And - http://www.chateau-gandspette.com And if you have a few hours free, it is right next to Blockhaus d'Éperlecques where the V2 Rockets were assembled.

Couple of sites in Wissant. Gets booked up early but worth a try. Nice town and beach. Very near the tunnel and not far from Calais.

There is also a field (no facilities) nearby. I think the farm next door has a chemical toilet disposal point? OK for an overnight but maybe not for a week?

Camping Les Epinettes would be closest, but would recommend l'Escale - near coast and near Boulogne with its magnificant Nausicaa. Or you could hop over and find some excellent campsites between Veurne and Poperinge, in Belgium.

On our route south we stop at Camping St Claire at Neufchatel en Bray.
Just 1 hour & 40 mins from Calais the site is basically a lovely garden with campers in it. It has a restaurant & is near to supermarkets etc. Good for long or short stays.
Close to the campsite is a disused railway line which runs to Dieppe and has been turned into countryside bike and walking route. Easy walk into town.
Highly recommended.
