Campsites by the sea in Vendee

Hi everyone, our first trip abroad in our recently acquired Cali will be to the Vendee in France (or Southern Brittany). Family of four kids 9 and 11 hoping to do some cycling and any other kinds of outdoor activities.

Wondering if anyone can recommend any good sites.

Have a look at camping les dunes Bretignolles sur mer. Direct access to huge sandy beach.

Not quite by the sea, but we stayed here for 2 weeks last year

It's next to a wonderful lake, that you can swim in. Nice walks around the lake, good for bike riding. We drove to the beach quite a lot - it wasn't that far away. Excellent for body boarding, kids your age will love it. We had terrible weather for a week, so were grateful for the indoor pool.

La Garangeoire was a nice site with plenty to do in and around it (lakes, boating, cycling, swimming pools, horse riding etc etc)

We went last Sept with our 6 and 3 year old boys for 4 nights, they loved it, excellent pools and slides.

Its about 10km from the beaches tho.

The first 4 nights we stayed at this site which is about 10 mins from Cherbourg. It is right above the beach and probably goes down as one of our favourite sites.

Highly recommend (The weather was actually better there than in Vendee that week!

Camping Indigo Noirmoutier
A nice site. Right on the beach. Lots of other beaches in easy cycling distance. The area is really good for family cycling.

Thanks for all the advice. We're now booked in at a campsite on Ile de re and one in Pornic. All of the recommendations look fantastic and we'll definitely consider them in future.posting.php?mode=reply&f=49&t=3118#
